cleveland rocks

What a weekend! As I mentioned, we went to Cleveland for the Angels v. Indians game (we did not do well, as in we lost).

But I did have a great time in Cleveland. We stayed near the baseball field and went out to some cool places in the city’s bar and restaurant district. Best of all, we went to Iron Chef Michael Symon’s restaurant, Lola. Holy crap. It was probably the best meal I’ve ever eaten. My younger nephew ordered lamb heart and it was surprisingly delicious. I had duck that was to die for.

Also, about mid-meal, Emeril Lagasse walked in and sat down two tables down from us. My sister and I toyed endlessly with the idea of asking him for a picture until our waitress walked by and said “I wouldn’t.”

Basically, I had a great time and Cleveland is a really cool city. Can’t wait to go again!

Madewell is here! In case you didn’t know from my zillion posts, Madewell is my fave.

Lucky for me (unlucky for my wallet) one opened at the mall near me this week! Can’t wait to check it out, I think I’ll swing by today!

This weekend we’re also going to Cleveland for the Angels vs. Indians game. I’m really excited, I hope the weather is nice.

What are you up to this weekend?

A couple weeks back, my good friend Carissa told me that Target was sending free beauty samples to the first however many people liked them on Facebook (sorry, it’s all over now).

I had almost forgotten about it until a little box arrived yesterday! How exciting?! I got a whole bunch of goodies, but most of all, I love the adorable makeup bag!

Thanks Carissa and Target!

i’ll give you a resin to wear this

How great are these rings?! They’re made with resin and gold and copper leaf – genius.

They just look so darn summery! Perfect color combinations. Great job RosellaResin.

a little thing called film: part deux

April 25, 2012 § 2 Comments

Yesterday, I mentioned that I received my developed film from my latest batch of Holga photos (“latest” is a bit of a stretch since I took them about two years ago).

They were taken in my home town of San Diego and these are the best of the color shots — the last one is crazy blurry, but I love the triple exposure. I will be trying this one again!

Enjoy!

gotye. ’nuff said.

Okay you guys, I’m on the bandwagon. I can’t stop listening to this song. I’ve just had it on repeat for the last two days.

Last week I mentioned that I’d recently taken some film from my Holga to get developed. Well, it’s here and a bunch of the photos turned out great!

Did you know it had been close to two years since I had taken most of them?! They’re shots of San Diego and here I’m sharing round one: the best of the black and white photos. Most were taken at Balboa Park in SD. (I can’t for the life of me remember where I took the last two!)

pastries s’il vous plait

My nephew and I kind of unintentionally started a weekly thing where I pick him up from school downtown and we go grab something to eat and try a new place. Somehow we got stuck in this loop where we have been exclusively going to bakeries and eating lots of pastries (fine by me!).

Last Friday was no exception and we stopped by this French bakery that’s crazy popular. We had French baguette sandwiches and some pastry that’s basically a donut-shaped creme puff with hazelnut cream in the center.

It. was. uh. maze. ing. Can’t wait to go there again.

let’s take a trip to Korea!

One of my very best friends, Matty, has lived in Seoul, South Korea for the past three years. I’ve never been, but I always look through his photos on Facebook to see what it’s like and what he’s been up to.

Recently he added these pictures he took hiking and visiting an amusement park. I thought they were so beautiful that I asked if I could share them with you!

Enjoy.

I’m so excited! About two weeks ago, I dropped off a bunch of rolls of film from my Holga to get developed. I’m going to go pick them up today (fingers crossed that some good photos actually came out).

The pictures are still at the camera store, so I thought I would share these old photos from a previous batch.

Hopefully I can go snap some new photos this weekend. What are you up to this weekend?
